Russian strike on humanitarian warehouse in Sumy
Today, a Russian strike damaged the humanitarian warehouses of the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation in Sumy.
As a result of the attack, the Foundation’s vehicle fleet and stocks of humanitarian aid were damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The full extent of the damage and losses is currently being assessed.
Attacks on humanitarian facilities and infrastructure that enables assistance to civilians are unacceptable. The Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law provide protection for civilians and humanitarian activities during armed conflicts. Humanitarian aid is not a military target.
Despite the attack, our Foundation continues its work and remains committed to supporting people in affected communities.
