War, forced displacement and interruptions to education prevent children from fully engaging with the school curriculum. To help students catch up on missed learning and continue their education with confidence, the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation is implementing a learning recovery programme in schools across Sumy Oblast as part of the “Access” project.
Ukrainian language, mathematics and English are the subjects covered by the programme, helping children bridge gaps in their knowledge. Qualified teachers take into account each student's individual learning needs, including those of children with special educational needs.

It is important not only to cover the missed learning material but also to help children believe in their own abilities. That is why the programme provides a supportive learning environment and organises educational activities with due consideration for the security situation.
Quality education must remain accessible to children even during the war. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, develop their abilities and move forward with confidence.

The “Access” project is implemented by the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation in cooperation with the Czech humanitarian organisation People in Need and with the financial support of the European Union.
