Educational hub for children in a frontline community

In the frontline town of Zolochiv, many children had long been unable to attend school, losing regular access to education and live communication.

To bring back learning and a sense of safety, the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation together with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) opened an educational hub.

“Parents are very grateful to the charitable foundations that gave our children the opportunity to meet again, to study, and not to be afraid of threats from the sky at a time when those threats are real,” says the mother of one of the students.

Here, children restore their knowledge of core subjects, catch up with the school curriculum, and participate in activities that support socialization and communication.

But the hub is not only about lessons. It also cares for children’s psycho-emotional well-being, organizes socialization sessions, communication, and activities that help them regain stability, confidence, and simply be children again.

Thanks to this space, the young residents of the community receive not only education but also support and new opportunities for growth.
