A Safe Space for Children Opens in Zolochiv
A safe space for children, where they can socialize, develop, and learn, has opened in Zolochiv. This initiative was made possible through the partnership of UNICEF and the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation.
This is an important facility for the frontline Zolochiv community, which is home to over 18,000 residents, including more than 1,500 children.
"In conditions where infrastructure has been destroyed, children often lack space for development and communication. Here, they will be able to learn, attend workshops, develop their talents, and also receive support from experienced psychologists," says Kateryna Vovk, project manager at the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv CF. Visitors to the center say they had been eagerly waiting for its opening, as providing children with the opportunity to socialize is extremely important.
"Children want to communicate, they lack it. This place is safe, and we can be calm about our children. We are very grateful for this challenging work in such difficult times," comments one of the visitors.
All services at the center are free of charge.
This initiative by UNICEF is being implemented by the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation with the support of the Government of Norway and the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance.
