On 11–12 August, the team of Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation participated in an introductory training course on environmental subsurface investigations, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Ukraine.
The training focused on soil investigations in areas affected by explosions and contamination resulting from the detonation of explosive ordnance.
During the training, participants deepened their knowledge of environmental soil investigation methods, the assessment of potential chemical contamination following explosions, and its potential impact on agricultural land and crops.

For our team, this knowledge is particularly important when working with communities affected by the war. Understanding the environmental consequences of contamination helps us assess risks to people, the environment, and agricultural areas more comprehensively, and support the safe recovery of affected communities.
