Gifts for first graders from the Vovchansk community

Children from the Vovchansk community are currently unable to attend their schools and are staying in Kharkiv. On the eve of the Day of Knowledge, the Department of Education of the Vovchansk City Council turned to the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation with a request to support first graders.

In partnership with UNICEF, we handed over 28 backpacks through the Kharkiv Regional Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity.

Each backpack contained everything needed for the first steps in learning: notebooks, pens, pencils, modeling clay, and other school supplies.
“It is very difficult for us in Vovchansk, but we are holding on. Heartfelt thanks in such a hard time to the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation for the help and support of our first graders,” said the mother of one of the children.

Seemingly simple things mean much more to these kids: the feeling of a holiday, the joy of having their own backpack, and the confidence that they are ready for school.

Even the smallest support can give children a sense of normal childhood, warmth, and care — because their education and happiness are our shared priority.
