Dormitory Renovations: Creating Comfortable Conditions for IDPs
The “Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv” Charitable Foundation, with the support of the international organization Oxfam, has completed major renovations of four sanitary facilities in dormitories housing internally displaced persons (IDPs). The work was carried out in the city of Berestivka and in Kharkiv, where 8 and 6 bathrooms were renovated respectively.
As part of the renovations, sewer and water supply systems were replaced, electrical wiring was upgraded, modern tiles were laid, and new sanitary equipment and water heaters were installed.
In addition, the bathrooms have now become accessible and comfortable for people with disabilities, with some sanitary facilities equipped with special handrails, seats, and faucets.
“On behalf of the administration of the educational institution, as well as the residents of our dormitory, we express our gratitude to the international organization Oxfam and the 'Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv' Charitable Foundation for such significant support,” said Nataliia Pochikalova, Deputy Director for Administrative and Economic Affairs of the Berestivka Medical College.
We work to improve living conditions for people who have lost their homes due to the war.
