Winter in the frontline communities of the Kherson region remains a particularly difficult period due to high heating costs and limited resources.
To support low-income families, the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation, in partnership with JERU and with financial support from International Relief Teams, is implementing a winter cash assistance program. Within the program, households can receive 19,400 UAH to cover heating and utility expenses.

Local residents themselves speak about the importance of this support:
“I can no longer do physical work. This assistance is very important because I can buy firewood for 15,000 UAH. Then I still need to hire people to chop it, carry it in, and stack it. That’s another three to five thousand more. Prices for everything are very high. I don’t have a future anymore — my years are already behind me. My dream is simply to live out my old age peacefully, without war.” — Olha, pensioner, resident of Kherson.
The Foundation continues its work to support people in frontline communities during the most challenging times of the year.
