Last week, following a strike on the Kharkiv region, the rapid response team of the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation worked at the impact site with the support of partner Medair.
“When it happened, I was at home, asleep, and everything started falling on me. It was very scary. Our kitchen window was damaged, and the balcony frame was blown out. The guys from Peaceful Heaven came, measured everything, and quickly covered it up. Thank you so much — this help is incredibly important for us,” says Ms. Iryna, a resident of the building.
The team sealed the damaged parts of apartments, helped residents tidy up their homes, and did everything possible to ensure people could return to their houses as quickly as possible and regain at least a minimal sense of safety.
“It was around two in the morning when there was a sudden blast and glass from the balcony and windows flew everywhere. People immediately ran outside, helped each other, and checked the apartments. The team came to me quickly, calculated what was needed to close the window and the balcony, and within a few minutes everything was done. Thank you to everyone. I really want this to finally end,” says Ms. Oksana, a resident of the building.
The rapid response team continues its work, supporting people immediately after shelling and helping restore basic safety in their homes.
