In Zaporizhzhia region, the charitable foundation the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation is conducting another distribution of firewood for local residents. Assistance is provided to families with children, elderly people, and persons with disabilities — each household receives a supply of firewood sufficient to heat their home throughout the season.
Among the recipients are internally displaced persons for whom winter becomes an especially difficult challenge. Tetiana from Orikhove shares:
"I am an IDP from Orikhove. I am very grateful to the people who took me in. It is scary, but life goes on. I heat my stove with firewood and coal. My pension is 4,000 hryvnias, so I have to economize a lot. I am very thankful for the firewood — finally, it will be warm at home."
Stories like these serve as a reminder of how crucial basic support is for people in difficult life circumstances.

The project is implemented in partnership with the Estonian Refugee Council (ERC) with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF).
