Evacuation from Ostriv: Support for Kherson
Ostriv. Once a quiet district of Kherson on the banks of the Dnipro River, it is now a dangerous area, practically on the front line.

The evacuation of residents and the support they receive from the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation is described by the head of the Kherson branch of the foundation, Oleksii Bezhan, in his opinion column for MykVisti.
Evacuations are carried out by the police, the State Emergency Service, and volunteers from humanitarian organizations. Our foundation carries out the second stage of evacuation – the so-called “social taxi.” We transport people from temporary distribution points to their new places of residence.

At the temporary accommodation hubs for evacuees, each resident receives an emergency response kit: a box of ready-to-eat porridges. These porridges can be heated and eaten immediately. This assistance comes from our international partner – the World Food Programme (WFP). More than 150 such kits have already been distributed.

We have also started registering Ostriv residents for cash assistance from the international donor JERU, which is expected to reach about 400 people.
Our foundation and other humanitarian organizations are ready to help every evacuee. The main thing is to leave Ostriv in time, while the road bridge is still safe for travel. Every moment counts.
