We’re turning 3! Let’s remember how it all began.
It all started with Heaven. Just Heaven—without the word “Peaceful.” Back then, we didn’t think Heaven could be anything else. Our restaurant Heaven was popular among Kharkiv residents. We did what we knew best—feeding people.
We already had experience preparing and delivering large quantities of hot meals: the restaurant’s kitchen provided catering for private schools and kindergartens. That’s why, on the third day of the full-scale war, we simply continued our work.
We cooked under constant shelling. Volunteers came together through personal networks. An electrician, a food technologist, a pharmacist, a sociologist, a teacher—not a single professional chef!
We’d put on helmets and bulletproof vests and deliver meals. Schools, lyceums, hospitals, basements, metro stations… Anywhere people had lost the ability to cook for themselves.
We sourced ingredients through friends, often bringing them from neighboring cities or even regions. Some were purchased using donations from caring people who sent money directly to our personal bank cards.
But we quickly realized that much more help was needed. And working spontaneously, as we did in the first days of the war, was no longer enough. That’s when we came to a logical decision: to create a charitable foundation, attract donor funding, and scale up our support.
We responded to events and showed up where we were needed:
Evacuations from dangerous areas, food kits for frontline communities, support for IDPs and gifts for children, multifunctional hubs and psychological assistance, a rapid response team and animal rescue, roof repairs after strikes and fuel briquettes, humanitarian demining and support for families of the missing.
And of course—hot meals.
We were included in Forbes Ukraine’s Top 50 charitable foundations and are undergoing international audit. Because we believe Ukrainian charity must be systematic and transparent. That’s how we’ll attract more funding, implement more projects, and save more lives.
We keep working, hoping that Heaven over Kharkiv—and all of Ukraine—will one day be peaceful again.
And even then, the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Foundation will continue its mission.
Good deeds are always needed. And so, we’ll always be there.
