In the Zaporizhzhia region, the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation delivered firewood to local residents who, due to the war, have lost the ability to provide heating for themselves. The assistance was provided to families with children, elderly people, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons.
“I am 87 years old and live alone. My pension is barely enough — you have to pay for electricity, pay for water, and still somehow survive. In winter it is very cold. I sleep fully dressed, in a warm coat and hat, covered up to my head. I was heating with an electric heater because I had no firewood. Now that I have firewood, I will be able to heat the stove and my home will be warm. Thank you very much for this support,” — Volodymyr, a resident of the village.

For many families, such support means the opportunity to remain in their own homes and get through this difficult period in safer and more dignified conditions.
The project is implemented in partnership with the Estonian Refugee Council (ERC) with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF).
