Volodymyr has lived in Derhachi all his life. It is his hometown and his home — a place he did not want to leave even after the full-scale war began.

In 2022, a strike occurred near his house. The explosion damaged the entrance door, windows, and roof. Despite the damage, Volodymyr continued to live in his home. During the winter, he stayed with his children and returned home when the weather became warmer.

As part of the project, the team of the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation restored the thermal envelope of the house. The entrance door, 8 windows, and 50 m² of roofing were replaced.

Now, the house once again protects its owner from cold and precipitation, allowing Volodymyr to remain in his own home in safer and more dignified conditions.

The project is implemented by the Ukrainian Educational Platform in partnership with the Peaceful Heaven of Kharkiv Charitable Foundation, with funding from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF).

As part of the initiative, residents of Kharkiv Oblast receive multipurpose cash assistance, psychosocial support, and humanitarian repair assistance for damaged homes.
